St George's Day Celebrations

On Saturday 26th April 2008, the weekend following St George’s Day, St George, his dragon and a damsel in distress will be visiting Coalville town centre.
They will wind their way through the town in a game of hide of seek, visiting the market and shops en route and stopping in the Belvoir Centre where a short tableau will enact the story of England’s patron saint.
This will be repeated three times through the day. The Belvoir Centre will also play host to a live band and there will be St George themed giveaways for children.
The proposed times of the show in the precinct are 10.30am, 12 noon and 1.30pm.
The event is being hosted by North West Leicestershire District Council.
