“If you are ‘disabled’ like me, it’s not always easy is it?
Come to our Service Users’ Group meeting and give opinions and ideas to get better services for disabled people. You will be made very welcome. Have a chat and cup of tea, then like me you may find you enjoyed the experience and even feel good about trying to help others.” Says Kathleen Wade, new group member
The Service User Group is well thought out from the very beginning. Over the past year, since the Access Team has been advertised, the number of referrals to the team has risen dramatically causing a huge waiting list. So if you have requested a major adaptation there is at least a year’s wait from the date of referral to assessment. We are currently trying to work with local councils to speed up the process through joint working. Please bear with us while we steadily work through our list.
The Service User Group now has its own section on the EMH website. This will give people the opportunity to keep up with the developments of the group. If you have a strong opinion about the topics discussed at any of the meetings or want to express your views please contact us at accessteam@emha.org
Better still, why not join the group? We need your views!
