An Inspector Calls…
18/10/2007
A team of housing inspectors from the Audit Commission are currently visiting us they will be here for one week to assess the quality and standards of the housing services we provide.
The Audit Commission is an independent public body responsible for ensuring that public money is spent effectively and economically.
Inspectors are involved in the following activities:
• visiting our estates and schemes to talk to residents and staff
• meeting with tenants and board members
• interviewing members of staff throughout the organisation
• spending time at our offices observing how staff deal with enquiries
• group forums with residents to discuss specific areas of service
• speaking to individual tenants who have recently received a service from us (e.g. a repair, a new letting)
At the end of the inspection week, the inspectors will make two judgements based on the following:
• how good are the housing services we provide
• what is the likelihood that we will improve
and will produce a detailed report based on their findings. The report will state the star rating we have achieved and outline recommendations for future improvements. Results will be published here on our website in the near future.
