Building and improving
The Housing Act of 1974 brought new funds for development as well as new requirements for housing associations to be regulated and monitored.
In 1975, EMH started its largest new-build project: the construction of 409 homes at Agar Nook, on the edge of Coalville
Size and scale offered no deterrent, projects have included:
- the redevelopment and relocation of a village in north west Leicestershire
- the reuse of former factory buildings and industrial sites
- the purchase of 550 former British Coal properties in Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire
- the reshaping of local authority estates
- the purchase of individual terraced properties for rehabilitation to assist local renewal strategies.
