Lettings
Between 1st April 2006 and 31st March 2007 EMH let 1377 homes:
- 687 general needs homes, including homes let and managed by our managing agents on our behalf.
- 84 sheltered housing homes.
- 606 supported housing homes, including homes let and managed by our managing agents on our behalf.
Of the general needs and sheltered housing lettings let directly by EMH, the majority – 737 homes – were relets of existing homes, whilst 85 were first lettings of newly built homes.
Residents for our general needs and sheltered lettings came to EMH from the following sources:
- 377 were nominated by the local authority (51%)
- 190 were from our own waiting list (26%)
- 112 were transfers from other EMH properties, mutual exchanges or tenants succeeding to a tenancy (15%)
- 58 were referred by other agencies (8%)

The average relet time for our general needs and housing for older people homes is 4.79 weeks.
The average relet time for our supported housing homes is 12.5 weeks.
