Home Ownership for the Older Person

Leasehold Schemes for the Elderly (LSE) homes are quality designed homes for older people within a secure and supported environment.

Properties are sold on the open market on a leasehold basis to individuals and couples over 55 years of age.

LSE schemes aim to provide an opportunity to purchase a home in a supported environment in which residents feel comfortable and secure in the knowledge that help is at hand in an emergency.

East Midlands Housing provides the following support services:

  • Assistance from a Scheme Manager
  • Communal Facilities
  • Emergency Call System
  • Caretaking
  • Liaison with care providers

A LSE home with East Midlands Housing takes away the worry of maintaining your own property as we manage the external structure of your home and surrounding gardens.

The Association recovers the cost of providing these services through a monthly service charge. We consult with residents about the charges we make. This is explained in more detail within the lease.
