Decent Homes
The Decent Homes Standard is a target set by Government for all social housing providers to meet set standards of fitness and design for their homes by 2010. In brief, a decent home will have to pass four tests:-
- It has to meet the current statutory minimum standards for housing
- It needs to be in a reasonable state of repair
- It needs to have reasonably modern facilities and services
- It needs to provide a reasonable degree of thermal comfort.
EMH has a programme of works planned for any of its homes that do not meet the Decent Homes Standard.
