Performance Monitoring & Target Setting
EMH recognises the importance of maintaining high quality, up to date information about the profile of its applicants, residents, staff and Board Members.
Diversity monitoring data is collated and held in the following ways:
- Applicants for housing – data collected via application form, verified at sign up using CORE methodology.
- Residents – CORE data transferred to Orchard housing IT records. Periodic data audits planned to ensure personal data remains complete and up to date. Further data is collected via satisfaction questionnaires, membership of residents’ groups and consultative committees.
- Employees & job applicants – data collected via application forms. Transferred to employees manual and IT HR records at point of employment. Checked annually for accuracy.
- Members – data collected at appointment. Records checked periodically for continued accuracy.
Performance monitoring is undertaken at Board, Regional Committees, Performance Review Group and at the Equality and Diversity Scrutiny Panel.
Diversity performance monitoring includes:
- Access to housing
- Sales
- Governance
- Human Resources
- Customer satisfaction including complaints
- Procurement
- Resident involvement
- Harassment
- Language Line usage
Targets, based on local census information, are set for each of these activities
Context of where we work - Census data 2001
Diversity Targets (ethnicity) 2007
These targets are reviewed regularly to ensure their continued relevance.
Where performance falls below target, action items are agreed with the Equality and Diversity Scrutiny Panel and are incorporated into the Kaleidoscope Action Plan.
The delivery of and outcomes of these action items are reported to the Scrutiny Panel as part of its monitoring of continuous improvement.
