Michael Pearson                                                              

   BA (Econ) LLB, ACIS.

Joined the Board as Chair in June 2006                               

      
Michael was recruited as Chair following the retirement
of the previous long-standing Chairman, Derek Fryett. 
Michael was Bursar and Finance Director at Loughborough
University until his retirement in April 2007. He is now a
Project Consultant at the  University and is involved in
numerous voluntary projects and social enterprise.

Chan Kataria

Chan is Group Chief Executive of East Midlands Housing
Association and has held numerous positions at senior level in both housing association and local authority sectors since he joined the movement in 1985.

Eric Ashby   
           Clerk in Holy Orders, Certificate in Pastoral & Theological Studies Joined the Board in 2004  

Eric is a retired parish priest and is involved in a number of community and voluntary agencies within the East Midlands region. He has particular interest in the provision of move-on accommodation for homeless and other vulnerable client groups.

  Alan Curtis         
        FCIH

Joined the Board in 2004

Alan is a retired local government officer and was previously Head of Housing Services at Mid Beds District Council. He has also worked in various positions at East Northants District Council, North East Derbyshire Council and Wellingborough Borough Council.                        

Silvia Ham-Ying 
        MSc, BSc, Registered Nurse Teacher, Diploma in Nursing, Registered Nurse,
Registered Midwife.

Joined the Board in 2005         
          

Silvia joined the Board in 2005 when Foundation Housing Association became a subsidiary of EMH.  She is Chair of Foundation HA and a part-time lecturer and nurse. She was previously Principal Lecturer and Head of Continuing Professional Studies at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at DeMontfort University.

Julia Howard

        LLB Solicitor

Joined the Board in 2005

Julia is Director and Deputy chief Executive of Hinckley & Rugby Building Society. She is also Director of Rugby town Centre Company Limited and was previously employed by Leicester City Council, with responsibility for Planning and Housing Committees.

Peter Lacey      
         BA

Joined the Board in 2002

Peter is a customer representative on the Board. He is retired but has extensive experience as an entrepreneur working both in this country and abroad.  Peter has extensive knowledge and is heavily involved in campaigning for the rights of people with disabilities.

Derek Lambourne  
         AIB (Scot), FPC (Financial Planning Certificate), CeMAP (Qualified Mortgage Broker),
Part Qualified Chartered Accountant.

Joined the Board in 2000

Derek is currently a Finance and Mortgage Broker. He has extensive experience in banking, building societies, accountancy and housing finance.

Richard Monk  
     BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering, DMS, MBA

Joined the Board in 2004

Richard is a Managing Director at Whitefriars Housing Group, leading the teams responsible for housing operations and regeneration.  He has had a diverse career spanning private, public and not-for-profit sectors and has extensive experience in corporate organisational and cultural change programmes.
Mo Murray   
        BA Hons

Joined the Board in 2004

Mo was Director of Care & Repair (West Leicestershire) Limited for the last 19 years until her retirement in September 2007. She has been involved in Women’s Aid and in front-line housing and community development initiatives prior to taking over Care & Repair.
Angus Walker 
             FCA

Angus is a qualified chartered accountant and is currently Head of Finance and Support Services at Skillshare International.  He has extensive experience in both the voluntary sector and freelance consultancy services on finance and tax investigations. He is on the boards of a number of voluntary and public organisations.
